A Study of e-Business Application and Future Trend for IC Component Distribution Industry in Taiwan

In the trend of internationalization, enterprises in Taiwan are confronted with global competition and pressure, which manifest the importance of improvement in competitiveness in all respects. The government has spared no effort to promote e-Business projects and introduce digital operations into various industries, so as to enhance working efficiency. This study investigates the IC component distribution industry to understand its scope, features, evolution, strategy, progress and depth of e-Business. Further, “As-Is”, value chain and detail activities of this industry were induced. From status of the industry, Port’s Five Forces analysis, SWOT analysis and literature review, the “To-Be” model of this industry and associated activities in the value chain were obtained. Finally, key successful factors in this industry were examined to understand future tendency.
